Who can come? Any and all dogs that are social, enjoy playing with other dogs, and are up to date on their shots. The shots that our facility requires are Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. If your dog is over the age of 7 months, they must be spayed or neutered. We also require that your dog be on some form of flea and tick treatment. All you need to do is print and fill out the forms located on our Services page. You can also stop by and complete the forms at our facility. Don’t forget to bring along your dogs up-to-date shot records!
A Typical Day at Canine Clubhouse
Throughout the day your dog will be playing with our other daycare pups as well as the human friends. Their playtime is unstructured; the dogs are free to play as they please. Generally the dogs are more active in the morning. Even when just "milling around" the dogs get a lot of exercise. Every day is different, which keeps things interesting!
The first time your dog visits is their "Introduction Day". Your dog is checked in and given a locker for his own personal belongings. We will confirm that your registration forms have been completed and that your dogs vaccination records are up-to-date. To start, your dog will take stock of his new surroundings in a holding area. The staff will gradually begin introducing your dog to his new playmates. We prefer to do this after you have left, so we have his/her full attention. Also, we don't want your dog to feel the need to be protective of you. We closely monitor how he/she reacts with the other dogs. We do not immediately let a new dog simply run into the playroom - it is a gradual process. During your dogs' Introduction Day we will pay close attention to your dog, to make sure they are doing well on their first day!
Drop off time is between 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM. When your dog is dropped off, its belongings are placed in a locker and he/she joins the playgroup for morning play time.
Nap time is every day from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. This time is for everyone to relax and take a bit of a nap. This time is also used for any dogs that have lunch/treats packed.
After nap time, the dogs rejoin the playgroup and continue playing until pickup. Pick up time is between 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
All playtime is in one of our four play areas. We have two outdoor fenced, turfed play yards and two indoor play areas. Our indoor play areas are equipped with agility flooring. This is soft foam that is made for dogs to run and play without any pain on their joints or muscles.
